RFS requries increase in biofuels from 9bn to 36bn gallons in 2022
December 2007, Congress expanded the renewable fuel standard (RFS) in Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA), requiring an increase in ethanol and other biofuels use from 9 billion gallons in 2008 to 36 billion gallons in 2022.
