(Subpoint 2) The global population will only continue to grow, which means we will need more and more energy to be able to live substantially. Nations with higher living standards also have much higher energy consumption. Mining the moon for Helium-3 would allow us to give our own planet a break because it would fuel our Earth for 10,000 years.
