The equality of women and girls free of violence is ignored if a persons unable to exercise and apply their right to self determination in all technology transfers. A right to be victimized after violent trauma is another right spoken without any intent to honor the victims confidentiality amongst the public and private sectors even under conditions of a sex crime. Sex crimes are not specific to women but the right to terminate a pregnancy after a sexual assault is a choice only a woman can make therefore only a woman has decision making authority over her reproductive and mental health.
Children
1 out of 3 girls will be sexually assaulted before age 18
1 out of 5 boys will be sexually assaulted before age 18
Either scenario produces a traumatic life event with many children requiring extensive therapy and in some cases a child may be committed for observation or a seemingly normal child may suddenly or progressively become mentally ill. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder may be immediate or progress over time. In either case, the mental health and opportunities to develop to a persons full potential is hindered or appears to be impossible leading to suicide or extreme violence.
Sexual predators seek victims of other sex crimes as easier to prey on a victim.
Justice systems fail to support the mental health of victims (see IPA 2014 report - justice system index of issues unresolved with citizen reported mental health and domestic violence situations.

A child is particularly vulnerable to threats caused by strangers and more often molest by a person known to the family.
Protecting the child based on the parents rights to self determination extends to any child based on familial relations, confirmed by kinship and only exceptions are in protective or stay away orders in cases that an absent parent may be limited to supervised or rights may be removed entirely.
Victims of domestic violence are the example of when these rights are severed.
