Sneller, A Affirmative Map for Individual Debate
Sneller, A Affirmative Map for Individual Debate☜We are going to use video technology to create several debates simultaneously. Over the course of several weeks we will use the current topic for Lincoln-Douglas debating from the National Forensic Association. You will participate in two total debates by recording separate speeches to an electronic file and then sharing them with select classmates. The people that are first to submit constructives will be paired against each other.☜F1CEB7

NASA'S PROJECT CATALYST
NASA'S PROJECT CATALYST☜NASA’s project is known as CATALYST (Cargo Transportation and Landing by Soft Touchdown), and will be entirely dependent on private sector financing. The idea is that NASA will work with private companies like Virgin Galactic to develop (relatively) affordable methods of transport to and from the moon. Companies that fund the project could be given first dibs at extracting minerals from the moon, whilst helping to expedite new exploration and science missions on the lunar surface.☜E2BE9F

Excerpt / Summary
quality of opportunity is often presented as a criterion which reconciles egalitarianism with principles of freedom and responsibility. This paper distinguishes between the principle of 'starting-line equality', which requires that everyone's initial opportunities, assessed in relation to what is publicly known ex ante, are equal, and the principle that equal efforts should yield equal ex post rewards. It argues that the first principle is compatible with allocation of resources through markets but, because of the division of knowledge, the second is not. If we want the opportunities which markets give us, we have to accept ex post unfairness
