Reflections on the day

Mauri Haoura - a state of wellness, one that is achieved through a journey through the gods/tamariki of Papa and Rangi.

A way to visually describe our thoughts and experiences in our head by drawing pictures eg. of the tamariki.

Creating stories

Using pictures

intrigued about linking the oral tradition with the language structure of narrative - could this be s bridge across from the western pedagogy to Mauri Haoura. What could this offer us as practitioners?

When we are speaking it then we are embodying it.

Like the way of embodying these feelings and emotions within Gods and seeing them as the thing that you have or the influence that is at work with you.

Whakamana (the act of mana) (sense, integrity, authenticity of the person)) o te tangata (people) : a really respectful process of unholding people, their world view, where they are at with the problem or the taniwha - so the act of upholding and respecting the person.

Mauri Haoura acknowledges important practices within the te ao Maori world view. An example of that is acknowledging those who have come before you and our origins in IO. We can do this by inquiring into someone's world view by being respectfully, decentering but influencial, holding someone's mana.

You need to have some small peppering, some awareness of the fact that its different, in order to begin to enquire.

Rocky will use the process of the koru as a framework or map of the process we undergo with a client.
