Ngakau and Manawa: universal and inner heart and mind and karakia

Ngakau refers to the universal heart/mind.

Manawa refers to the inner heart/mind of the individual.

Ngakau encompasses and is connected to manawa.

Karakia is the art of meditation, the art of being. When one is in the state of te kore, the Great Nothingness, it becomes possible to connect with ngakau, the universal consciousness. This requires us to step outside of the 'I', the individual mind. This is the deeper meaning and purpose of karakia. The purpose of the song or prair is to connect manawa to the ngakau in the state of te kore.
