Ranganui is our sky father. He is the source of the dimensions time and space and provides us with the qualities and abilities of consciousness, effort, logic and a strongwork ethic.

When you are working with male Maori clients who feel they have no place in their family or in culture at large you can tell them about Ranganui and explain that he can express the qualities of Ranganui as a means of being both a man and a microcosm of Ranganui. In so doing he will have a sense of connection to the universe and it will help him to find his place in his whanau, iwi, hapu and nation.

All people contain both Ranganui and Papatuanuku, or sky and earth. Women can express the qualities of  Ranganui and Papatuanuku just as men can be both Papatuanuku and Ranganui.
