The recognition network is a very specialized network with different modules for each of the bodies sensual recognition systems, including sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. The brain recieves and processes information simotaniously and is then able to use initial recognition to impact the ability of the other sense networks to recognize an item also. This specific sharing of sensory information helps to make the brain more efficient and effective. However, due to the many components that make up the recognition network, there are many small ways that people can differ in their recognition and perception of their environment (Rose and Meyer, 2002).
