There is anew Government proposal in the United Kingdom circulating that may in turn leadto Internet Service Providers (ISPs) facing sanctions if they do not start totry and eliminate illegal downloading of music by the users. The proposalcontains statements, which include the possibility of users being banned fromthe Internet for illegally downloading. It is estimated that over six million people are illegallydownloading music in the United Kingdom. This new proposal is to be put inplace to stop illegal downloading of any file. The Internet Service Providershave made statements stating that it would be very difficult to try and locateall of the users downloading illegally. This is an older article which statedthat legislature could be brought up in April 2009 which would apply pressureto the ISP’s to crack down on there users. This article shows that the governmentis tired of people downloading illegally and they are trying to formulate moreeffective ways of “cracking” down on the ISP’s and the users. It will be interestingto see if a proposal such as this one will be brought to the United States.
