I believe it would be possible to create technologies that are consistent with the architecture of human consciousness. We have some models for aspects of the architecture of human consciousness such as: basic element analysis, the wheel of karma, the mental factors, the ontologically fragile self etc. People often use the word 'intuitive' to describe technologies that seem natural and easy to use. Intuition is only one aspect of human consciousness. We need to unpack what we are really referring to by the use of this meme - intuition. One obvious way in which teachnology has not been aligned with a health architecture of human consiounses is the way in which technologies have become very diembodying. We have an obesity epidemic occuring in part because work life has become very sedentary. The sedentary nature of work has been established through the introduction of techologies that assume the human organism can spend extended periods of time static, sitting or moving very little. Technologies are eliminating the body from view. How do we correct this? |
