Difference between machine c and natural c
Looking the differences between machine conversations and natural (human) conversations
In the case of natural conversation the speaker and the listener are co-creating and co-evolving the entailment mesh. This is not the case for machine understanding - at present. The machine has only an already complete and static mesh of the listener's domain of understanding to work with. Ultimately a goal would be to allow machines to participate in a co-creative, co-evolving process of creating the entailment mesh that exists between the protagonists involved. This requires that machines be able to emulate or have empathy and particiapte in the process of enculturation (Thompson).
