| Sex and the City | | | A much loved series, of the same name, on TV was adapted
into a film in 2008. ‘Sex and the City’ – the TV series – in turn,
was adapted from the book of the same name by Candance
Bushnell. The film deals with the lives of four female
friends – Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker),
Samantha Jones (played by Kim Cattrall),
Charlotte York Goldenbatt (played by Kristin Davis)
and Miranda Hobbes (played by Cynthia Nixon).
The four friends and the way they live their lives as single
women in the city of New York forms the basis of
the film. ‘Sex and the City’ opened to mixed reception
from critics, but was a witness to brilliant commercial success.
In 2010, a sequel of the film – ‘Sex and the City 2’ –
hit the theatres but couldn’t create that much of an
impact as the first one did. | |
