How economic inequality harms societies
SupportiveArgument
1
#133964
We feel instinctively that societies with huge income gaps are somehow going wrong.
Richard Wilkinson charts the hard data on economic inequality, and shows what gets worse when rich and poor are too far apart: real effects on health, lifespan, even such basic values as trust.

It's not my problem
The "not my problem" mindset is a problem. It is both the source and the result of an ideology that exalts individual autonomy at all costs. It is highly contagious and quickly corrosive. It is part of a feedback look in which the disavowal of problems creates the very problems being disavowed.
