Status & Progress
A lot of progress has been made in the past few years. The EC spoke of its ECAS system, used by 40 people in the EU institutions and by 50,000 citizens. Spain has issued over 25 million electronic Identity Cards.

The STORK project is nearing completion, includes participation of Ministries from 18 MS and is running six live pilots. Spain's notaries are fully connected to relevant databases and registries and are heavy ICT users.

The EC plans for a legislative framework on eID, eSignature and authentication were welcomed by all.
