Wars are too costly for society and taxpayers
The total cost of war in the United States SINCE 2001 has reached $1,284,849,700,000. This is not counting any wars before 2001. One of the wars in Iraq was not necessary. In addition, 4483 lives have been lost in Iraq. 3,000 have been lost in Afghanistan since 2001.
It is a fallacy to say that the United States has been successful in wars if there has been so much money spent and so many lives lost and nothing gained.
While the Afghan war was battled to destroy the terrorists in Afghanistan, the United States lost almost the same number of causalities in war compared to the actual attacks. (3,000 vs 2996)
