Increasing prosperity and global GDP
Cyberspace is acting as a prosperity multiplier. It is estimated that for every 10% increase in broadband penetration, global GDP will increase by an average of 1.3%.

Excerpt / Summary
Criminals are using the web to extort money, steal identities, ideas and designs, defraud government departments and businesses, as well as exploit the most vulnerable in our societies, particularly children. Brazil recently had to deal with this: a number of government websites – including the Presidency’s – were attacked by hackers and taken offline.
The annual cost of cybercrime to the global economy could be as much as $1 trillion. We need a global, co-ordinated response, involving all who have a stake in cyberspace.
