Internet freedom in Tunisia?
The combination of a well-developed telecommunications infrastructure (Internet access, mobile phones, satellite TV) and of a high level of education (including good computer literacy) is in conflict with the government's wish to limit internet freedom.
This conflict is of course not unique to Tunisia. Many countries in the Arab world and South Asia have strong, brutal governments, who may have some interest in limiting communication and access to information. But these countries also have developed a good education system and need, for their economic growth, a wide tolerance for Internet-based access to information.
