David Hall Person1 #679778 Professor in Animal Health Economics at the University of Calgary. |
- After completing my veterinary degree at the University of Guelph (OVC â89) I worked in mixed animal practice in Canada and internationally. Much of my work has been related to animal production, economics, and policy, particularly bovine (dairy and beef) and more recently poultry systems.
- While working on my PhD in agricultural economics (Texas A&M, 2001) which focused on risk and international trade, I managed a research project in Thailand examining the economic and epidemiologic impact of adopting herd animal health programs on dairy farms.
- Prior to joining UCVM, I spent a combination of eight years working in various capacities with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations based in Rome and Bangkok, international institutions including the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and the International Livestock Research Institute based in Nairobi.
