President of WHITE CANE, NGO (Yekaterinburg, Russia). White Cane is a non-profit public organization founded by visually impaired people in Yekaterinburg, Russia in 2010. We are seeking new approaches to rehabilitation and re-activation of people with disabilities. Our aim is to help and promote our communityâs social and economic activities, and establish contacts with the world of âhealthyâ people. We believe it very important for us to become self-sustained and independent both economically and in everyday life.
Sails of the spirit, international humanitarian mission (worldwide)
Since its inception, the Sails of the Spirit voyages grew into an international humanitarian mission. Each sailing expedition is made by a crew that consists of people with and without disabilities, i.e. people of all abilities.
2017 first world congress for persons with disabilities, a summit of 700 people
2012-present : business city, educational program for blind and visually-impaired students of the special school for the blind (Verkhiia pyshma, Russia)
2016-present: educational program in inclusive communication, workshops taught by experts with disabilities
2015-present: cross-rehabilitation, rehabilitation activities led by blind coaches for patrons of drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers
2012-present: activities in the dark, special workshops and activities held by blind experts for the sighted audience.
2012-present: inclusive games, sports activities for mixed groups of children
Through play, children with and without disabilities learn to interact with each other in a fun and kind way. We organize such games for children from different schools.
