2. Greener fuels such as biofuel and natural gas should be used now.
Biofules and natural gas can be used with currently existing technologies (i.e. the internal combustion engine) and will immediately contribute to the emission reduction goals.
A participant in the Trialog pointed out that the IC engine in itself is not responsible for causing pollution. It is the fules that are burnt in the engine that release the CO2 emissions and other pollutants. Natural gas and biofuels are cleaner than petrol and diesel and can be used with the currently existing technologies and infrastructues. Therefore, we should switch to these fuels in order to begin to reduce emissions immediately.
