The current path of urban mobility is characterized by:
- privately owned (as opposed to rented/shared)
- individually driven (as opposed to bundled/shared)
- cars (as opposed to other/new forms of vehicles)
- with internal combustion engine (as opposed to electric motor)
- powered by fossil fuels (as opposed to synthetic fuels or electricity from renewable sources).
While there are alternatives such as public transport, biking or car sharing options, urban mobility today is dominated by individualized car transport.
