Tammy met with Mei Lin

s brother, Andrew, and learned about unemployment, local and abroad. Their unemployemnt only 1.8 percent.

Brian s team : formulating proposals for Andrew, finding their needs in Singapore and

"filling it."

Kennan: intrigued by Andrews round table talk.

highly dynamic. Entrepreneur filling the need business model. Their need is to be able to become entrepreneurs, where they used to be doing the training and have the answers. all the internal things they are dealing with and framing, and how it affects your thinking. deep down resetting. restting for being very agile and responsive.

Was in Los Angeles last week and drove home.

people from engineering world are looking for something meaningful by all the downsizing.

Andrew shared about what was happening in Singapore. Andrew shared that he is on the trip to USA because he doesnt have any answers.

Brian: wrote in an email and repeating. the guys who take the jobs as engineers, they guys dont have self actualization, or pride and ownership in their job. they dont have an entrepreneurial spirit.

Jonathan: I was at the meeting with Andrew on Sunday. I was part of the discussion. they work incredibly long hours to make ends meet in singapore. Andrew is donig his job with the government,  envisioning how he can redefine work.

proposed an apollo program, looking at aqua culture,

Singapore email regarding solar

Lorriane will do a financial model for Omega. Working on the 4 minute video that describes Omega.

Looking at starting a kick starter Campaign for Omega project.

Brian: kickstarter he is working on in next three weeks. really a great way to raise funds.

you put up a video, put it on kickstarter website. it

s your job to drive traffic. the people give credit cards to make a pledge. it

s all or nothing. you have to reach the amount of money, and then the mone gets transferred, kickstarter gets 5 percent. no credit cards are executed if the full amount is not reached.

after 6 months, you can go back and do it again.

Kennan: kickstarter does not charge you up front. the kickstarter campaigns have to be approved. great early manufacturing process, or early record release. product for fee, used it a few times herself.

Denise: American Chinese Society

giving kids the opportunity to bring a solution. exposing Atlanta kids to Zambian kids. Bring awareness and allow them to make intelligent choices.

martin luther king

s brother, story, sending his book and story integrated into the movement.

the guy who started Books for Africa is from London. The book launch will be in London in October. All connects:

Tammy: economics in Zambia.” Agriculture accounts for around 72 percent of all employment in Zambia; however, the poor use of land resources has severely degraded the soil, making it difficult for farmers to raise agricultural production beyond subsistence levels.”

Adco created a model farm and bought 300 acres of land. Taking a film crew, two journalists, and then bringing it back to atlanta.

Atlanta #2 in childhood obesity. This can be a part of the solution for that.

Marje: working with petroleum companies, energy is next.

it is all growing organically, and it is happening.

Biomimicry as a model for eco system development. Proposed model:

Smart Buildings and Built Environments will have energy to empower stakeholders and their ecosystems when internal and external energies are dynamically balanced; They fail when they become too rigid, waste resources or fall too far out of balance.

Buildings, like natural living systems, must evolve internally and externally as other systems in their universe change. “Energy,” “Economy” and “Environment” are symbolic of many variables -- including people, families, communities and organizations of all kinds; power grids, food, water/waste management systems and the communication/transportation systems that connect them.

The opportunity is to create and maintain smart, dynamically balanced buildings and built environments that optimize the available energy/resource mix and empower the resilient development of smart people, buildings, built environments and ecosystems.

Final word – June 17 meeting

Jonathan - when I was a graduate student, the lab I was working in had a guest scientist did controversial experiments published in Nature - tried to replicate using the same equipment - I showed that everything he did was not real, even tho peer reviewed and published in Nature. I called the technician who did the work, to find out exactly what was done, so then I COULD replicate the results. As long as scientists are funded and recognized based on “First” and they will not publish their methods. We should no longer use the primitive technique of acknowledging scientists, and shift to give people scores based on their reputation - a more complex network for evaluating reliability - it could liberate the scientific community, maybe a new list for Science like “Angie’s list”

Mei Lin: We could call it “Kennans’ list”

Roberta - grass roots life is personal - there is a movement to not take in people (with vouchers for housing) - it is becoming such a hardship for the mental health.  We need to change our own attitudes about people who are already in need.

Jonathan - might our network be able to help evaluating the people we work with?

Tammy and Randy Farmer may be able to help with reputation scales.

Denise - final word is stars and moon. we all shine brightly - keep on shining - shine your light on other people and give them the spotlight - give them a little confidence they can do their job. everyone have a great week
