Derek Dodson's work allowed me to better understand the ancient Greek Progymnasmata. This word described the set of prescriptions given to every man in the effort of training them to be master rhetoricians and debaters in Athenian life. Dodson's work, cited above, is where I obtained this description and understanding, which I used in a piece directed to fellow students where I took a more modern stance. I used the idea of the Greek Progymnasmata as a metaphor to describe prescriptions they could take to be more aware of their dreams. This was the essential component of my initial claim, that being more aware of your dreams allows for you to gain meaning from them and use those meanings to lead better lives overall.
