The vital and complex questions introduced in these seminars do not have easy answers. Investigation into how the commons may federate and synergise the economic and social, philosophical, spiritual, and political spheres and facilitate the great transition to an equitable and sustainable world is an ongoing challenge. Only large-scale, collaborative enquiries into these topics have a chance to succeed. The final seminar proposed the creation of Commons Rising, a commons for the Commons, as a meeting place for inter-organisational cooperation in addressing those matters. It would increase the mindshare of a âcommons-based economyâ in public awareness and serve as a primary resource base for the media and commons-curious organisations in the social, public, and private sectors. This can involve hosting public conversations and special events (online and face-to-face) with politicians, activist, artists, economists and journalists. Commons Rising would make the connected intelligence of it members visible to itself, by linking up conversations across variou commons-related initiatives and projects. Convergence would also serve as an experiential space for prototyping the structural shifts involved in the commons paradigm, including co-production and co-governance of commons resources. The possible structures and activities of this commons will be explored collaboratively by all concerned parties.
