An overview presentation about the "DAE situation" in Portugal was given in all events by the Portuguese Representative of the Digital Agenda High-Level Group, Dr. Luis Magalhães, who provided a "guided tour" through the main DAE topics addressed in the 2011 edition. Slides are available at the country webpage, under each meeting place, and you can find them too here attached (Annex 3). From the presentation it is clear that there has been good progress in the last years, and some interesting elements came out from a more in-depth analysis of the different objectives. Regarding the e-Inclusion topic, for example, the results on the progress achieved are very positive, however there is a well identified gap on the population without secondary education, in particular over 55 years old, but also between 25 and 55 years old (though in this case closer to the EU average). In the other hand, when we consider different age and educational level groups, the situation in Portugal is in some cases much better, and often better or closer to EU averages, as can be seen on the presentation. At institutional level many participants had experience in managing EU-funded projects and in general EU R&D funding was very much discussed. Therefore, the recently announced Horizon2020 and CEF were topics of particular interest. It was interesting to discuss them in a more policy context and relate it to the DAE policy objectives as a whole. The open data strategy was also presented and discussed with interest.
