Point estimation only, if converge

Unlike the explicit maximum likelihood approach which provide asymptotic confidence limits, the EM algorithm only provide the point estimate, which, under certain conditions, coverage to the m.l.e. To build confidence limits, one needs to use bootstrapping or similar re-sampling methods.
