Get rid of the permanent 2-pane separation in the Hub view

In the hub view, we are forced to have the screen partitioned into two halves: the left for the map, the right for something else (context, stream, finder, etc). Would be great to have an x button on each of these two halves, that would allow to make it disappear (and of course reappear on demand).

A (double-) click somewhere in the half to be maxed would even simplify the procedure.
