Pointer cross-links

I would like to have a cross-link that would connect #92206 to #91421 in such a way that the link would appear in the map of #91421 but not in the map of #92296. Is there a way to do this? I tried to type the cross-link as a "pointer" but it still appears in both maps. How do pointer links work?
