Did Israel’s decision to launch major military action in Gaza conform to internationally recognized norms (encoded in the UN Charter and the Just war, jus ad bellum, criteria—e.g. the requirement for ‘just cause’, the exhaustion of alternatives and reasonable prospects of success?).
