Israel seeking to acquire more territory

Since 1967 Israel has established control over and settlements (facts on the ground) in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, and wants to include these permanently within its borders. Hamas (as well as the PLO, Fatah, and the Arab states) oppose this. Hamas must be eliminated in order to make room for a more pliable partner.
