Expect more wide scale Internet-amplified petitions (Avaaz style)

Petitions systems such as Avaaz are able to mobilize the international Internet community at an unprecented scale, raising something of the order of a million voices in favor of the whales, the bees or WikiLeaks. Did not happen in the case of the Tunisian revolution, but it could happen elsewhere.

Although it isn't clear that a large-scale petition in favor of democracy would have much impact on Ben Ali himself, the buzz it creates could reinforce the motivation of dissidents, who would have a good measure of the extent to which their cause is supported on the international scene.
