Create the Compression Institute
Form a legal group, a 501(c)3, with the name Compression Institute, initially to be under the wing of FJC, which provides a legal umbrella for non-profit start ups.
Situation:
Multiple sources of evidence suggest that we are on the verge of severe resource shortages and environmental degradation. Even if this were not the case, it makes no sense to continue using more and more just because the economic system views it as a mark of success. Almost all other problems can be reduced to more manageable scope by simply consuming a lot less.
Vision
The Compression Institute adopts the following vision:
Assure survival and well-being using self-learning systems.
Mission
To realize this vision, the Institute adopts the following mission:
Build systems and processes that work to perfection: No use of excess resources. No wasted energy. No toxic releases. Quality over quantity - Always.
“By 2040 globally develop a quality of life somewhat like industrial societies today, but using less than half the virgin raw material and less than half the energy as in the year 2000, and with no known toxic releases.”
