Scientific Model

Physicists design and develop "models" to describe a scientific theory related to given phenomena. A model is generally based on a theory (a series of hypotheses) and on a set of parameters obtained from experimental data and/or observations. Computer simulations can sometimes be used to test a model's reliability. If it is found to be sufficiently reliable, the simulation can even be used to predict what would happen if the initial parameters were different.
