MIMO Systems

In this project, we investigate the benefits of deploying advanced repeaters MIMO-based wireless networks.

For instance, combating shadowing and indoor penetration and achieving spatial multiplexing gain in Line of Sight (LoS) MIMO channels. Various algorithms(e.g. channel estimation and beamforming algorithms) are designed for the repeater-based networks. These proposed algorithms are tested in real environments utilizing the repeaters, which are developed by the Partners. Finally distributed antenna systems are studied, and the total throughput of such systems is evaluated.

  • Partners: Chalmers, UU Institute: SP, Ericsson AB, Qamcom AB.
  • Applications: Broadband wireless systems based on MIMO, repeaters, and distributed antenna systems.
