Social Divisions

Americans think of slavery as a white-black phenomenon, but when European colonials were enslaving non-whites, "faith-based" slavery was common between Moslems and Christians in the Mediterranean region. Millions of whites were enslaved too. Everyone needed a mythical cover for an economic practice.
