What about alternative energy.?

Even nuke is no magic answer. Lifetime energy yield might be 5 or 10 to 1, and uranium is not in unlimited supply. Nuclear fusion has been at least 30 years in the future for the last 40 years. No clean, global energy bonanza seems at hand.
