What if the "ground of becoming" (bhavanga) is not consciousness but an attractive-energy filled space I call Love, Western physics calls the Higgs Field and others call qi or prana?
What then?

To unpack this a bit, what I am suggesting is that under spacetime is space, and in that space energy flows, from lower to higher potential. This is Love or qi or prana, depending on the icon you use. In the West the icon is the Higgs Field.
Consciousness exists as vortexes in this energy.
