Where the West went wrong.

May 20 2017 / edited for clarity June 6, 2017

"Computers run on 1s and 0s. Their Universe is pixelated. Without consciousness in our science we think ours must be, too."

Western science began by cutting the whole into parts.

In doing this it lost the idea of consciousness, because consciousness attaches to the whole.

In Western science the whole is precisely equal to the sum of the parts because consciousness is not part of the equation.

This is wrong.

Consciousness is part of the equation.

Computers run on 1s and 0s. Their Universe is pixelated. Without consciousness in our science we think ours must be, too.

Data does not equal the checkerboard cloth of reality. You're forgetting consciousness at the picnic.
