Thermodynamic Economics and Energy

An industrial society needs lots of energy, even if waste isn't "profligate." Abundant fuels led to emphasizing labor productivity, substituting machines for human mental labor as well as physical, but even computers require electricity. Doing more with less depends on physical energy economics.
