Is the Transformational Government strategy sound?

Is the Government's Transformational Government strategy sound?

The original Transformational Government strategy is set out in the Cabinet Office's 2005 report: "Transformational Government—Enabled by Technology".

The strategy seeks to exploit the opportunity provided by new technology to transform:

  • public services for the benefit of citizens, businesses, taxpayers and front-line staff.
  • the efficiency of the corporate services and infrastructure of government organisations (thereby freeing resources for front-line services).
