Children's Society

The Children’s Society [1] is a national charity established in 1881 that runs local projects helping vulnerable children and young people – such as supporting those with mental-health issues, running children’s centres and helping those at risk of sexual exploitation – and lobbies nationally to tackle child poverty and support young migrants, refugees and children at risk [2]. There is also a Community Participation Team that works to ensure that the voices of children and young people are fully involved in the work of the Society [3], and there are local Children’s Centres and community-based initiatives such as Stand By Me (a project supporting the wellbeing of young migrants in London) [4] [5].
