Children's Society
The Children’s Society [1] is a national charity established in 1881 that runs local projects helping vulnerable children and young people – such as supporting those with mental-health issues, running children’s centres and helping those at risk of sexual exploitation – and lobbies nationally to tackle child poverty and support young migrants, refugees and children at risk [2]. In 2005 it identified a research gap around children’s wellbeing, which it has been working to fill – for example, in 2014 publishing a joint report with NEF on Ways to Well-being, exploring what children and young people can do to support their own wellbeing [3].
