Barnado's

Barnado’s [1] was established in 1866 and is now the largest children’s charity in the United Kingdom (in terms of charitable expenditure). It works with 240,000 children, young people and families every year, runningover 960 vital services, including counselling for children who have been abused, working with young carers, providing fostering and adoption services, vocational training and disability-inclusion groups – often partnering with local community groups and councils [2]. Its Strategy Unit produces research into all these issues, and it runs regular campaigns (most recently Support the Unsupported’, to transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children) [3].
