Joseph Rowntree Foundation
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) [1] is an independent organisation working to inspire social change through research, policy and practice. Its vision is for a prosperous UK without poverty where everyone can thrive and contribute. To achieve this, the Foundation works in partnership with private, public and voluntary sectors, as well as individuals and communities. JRF searches for the underlying causes of social problems, demonstrates practical solutions to influence lasting change through publishing and promoting evidence, and encourages multi- stakeholder collaboration [2]. The Foundation aims to understand how poverty affects children, looking at the effects of poverty in areas such as the childcare system, relationships, family life, education, and child benefit [3].
