Health and Social Care Information Centre

The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) [1] is the national provider of information, data and IT systems for commissioners, analysts and clinicians in health and social care. For instance, the HSCIC releases annual results from the National Child Measurement Programme in England. The Centre was set up as an executive non-departmental public body in April 2013 and is sponsored by the Department of Health. HSCIC employs 2,500 staff (full-time equivalent), mostly IT specialists, programme and project managers, statisticians, analysts and information-security experts [2]
