Join us for a webinar to discuss how civil society can work together on the Sustainable Development Goals after September 2015

This webinar is an opportunity to get an update on the conversations so far and discuss with colleagues how we can continue to work on the mobilisation, advocacy and awareness raising of the Sustainable Development Goals after September 2015.

Over the past few months, many of us have been engaged in conversations about how we as civil society can build on the collaboration and momentum that have been created around the post-2015 agenda. We are confident that by coming together as global civil society, we can keep the momentum going for full implementation, follow-up and accountability of the post-2015 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals and continue to build and strengthen the political commitment for the SDGs at all levels. This webinar is a part of a series of meetings and aims to bring members of civil society together to take these conversations forward.

Stakeholder Webinar: Engaging with the media

When: 10 September, 10:00 EST/15:00 BST
Where: Online (Google Hangout)

This event follows on from the media workshops earlier this year in New York, and is aimed at Post-2015 stakeholders who seek a greater understanding of how to communicate with a wider audience by engaging with the media. The webinar will again involve media trainer and former BBC journalist David Thomas, as well as input from members of CIVICUS. Topics being covered include:

  • Arranging press events - the nuts and bolts issues
  • How to put together a press list
  • The importance of being a first responder
  • There will also be refreshers on dealing with journalists, identifying audiences and key messages for those who missed the workshops

There will also be a short overview of the new online materials to support stakeholders in communicating their messages more effectively, including a downloadable guide and a selection of specially commissioned audio podcasts.
