Obesity Training for Fitness Professionals

The "Making the Move: Working with Obese Clients" course is divided into 14 lessons with several topics in each. There are 6 lessons in Part 1: Setting The Scene and 8 lessons in Part 2: Putting It Into Practice which will take about 5 hours of study each.

The course is divided into two parts:

(1) Setting The Scene
(2) Putting It Into Practice

Part 1 investigates many of the key identified causes and consequences of obesity. It discusses the factors which the fitness professional should be aware of when consulting with a client who has obesity.

Part 2 looks at what you can do to resolve deleterious factors identified in Part 1, in your capacity as a fitness professional. We explain how to design a safe and effective weight loss programme for someone with obesity, and develop this further with advanced exercise assessment and prescription providing you with an extensive toolkit for use in practice. For the client with obesity, there are many behind-the-scenes aspects of their condition which can significantly influence your relationship and their successful weight loss and fitness improvement.
