Professor Jonathan Valabhji is the current National Clinical Director for Obesity and Diabetes for NHS England.

 

  • Jonathan is a Consultant Diabetologist, Physician and Endocrinologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He brings many years of clinical experience to his new role at NHS England. He has been Lead Clinician for Diabetes at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust from 2008 until 2013, and from 2011 to 2013 provided clinical leadership to the North West London Integrated Care Pilot, an ambitious and complex clinical change process to integrate diabetes care and frail elderly care across the sector.​
  • He is Adjunct Professor in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Imperial College London, with a current research focus on diabetic foot disease and past publications on cardiovascular disease in diabetes.​
  • He is a committee member of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists and has represented the Royal College of Physicians on the Joint Specialty Committee for Endocrinology and Diabetes.
