Introduction

Notes on the map.

This map could be useful in bringing together information and expert opinion about Ebola. As a "map" of the discussion it can literally provide an overview of what is going on around the world. But please see Ebola Deeply.

Like Google maps it allows you to zoom in and out of particular areas; you can see the forest AND the trees.

A fast way to build this map is by embedding tweets in the appropriate sections. This is a proven technique.

To embed a tweet, click on the "..." link when viewing the tweet, scoop up the embed code and paste it into the HTML window in the DebateGraph editor.

Cross-links are pale yellow and can be internal to the map or go out or come in from other maps. From the title level this map cross-links to the Infectious Diseases map.

The "Views" menu is key to viewing the map. There are different ways of looking at the map, although the information stays the same. Major views:

Bubble, Focus View -- good on lap/desktop, shows network and relative importance of elements (lines are different thicknesses).

Outline View -- good for context and fast navigation, works well on lap/desktop, good on mobile.

Page View -- Works well on mobile (a single column view, like a webpage).
