This is not a sociological study. The claim is that someone has an "illness" and that a medical intervention will fix it. We did research using a definition of that illness and proclaimed certain results. Now we've changed the definition. How can we claim the same research results apply?

And a lot is at stake. The drugs cause mental and physical effects which can be significant. Stigma is a difficult issue. People are expected to give up control of their minds to others, for life.
